Bike Mods

Preparing for a group bike ride along the Scotland 500 route, I had to upgrade two of the bikes to be able to carry our luggage. To address this, I decided to create a custom luggage carrier using my 3D printer and aluminum tubing.

Since my Cube bike lacks built-in mounting points for a luggage rack, I had to fabricate brackets that would securely attach to the frame. I began by referencing a picture of my bike frame, which helped in ensuring the correct angles for the rear bottom bracket.

I secured the brackets to the frame using tie wraps. The aluminum tubes were attached to the 3D printed components using bolts and rivets. For the cross connections, I employed threaded rods and locking nuts.
